Conference Themes:

Explore Nursing in a Local/National/International Context

The World Health Organization declared 2020: Year of the Nurse and Midwife. The COVID-19 pandemic raised the profile of nursing in a way not entirely expected. The International Council of Nursing reports there has been migration of the health workforce and significant impacts from the pandemic; nurses have had to adapt at a local level. Empowering nurses to meet 21st century health challenges is a must.

Celebrate Orthopaedics & Specialism

Discuss potential innovative developments unique & complimentary to orthopaedics and initiatives that assert the value of orthopaedic nursing as a distinct specialty with a unique body of knowledge.

‘Moving Forward’

Building skills such as leadership, Collaboration & developing teams, nurturing, whilst understanding yourself, being authentic & honest in order to prepare yourself for the challenge of working in a rapidly changing health care environment.

Abstracts Submission Guidelines

Types of Presentations

We aim to run a face-to-face conference in the first instance. Should this not be possible, due to COVID-19 restruiction at the time, we will endevour to run the conference in a virtual environment. 

Oral Presentations - If your abstract is accepted as for an oral presentation you will be allocated a session (time to be advised) within the program.
Please bear in mind that presentations will be strictly limited to 25 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for questions.

Workshop Presentations - When you are submitting your workshop outline, please bear in mind workshops will be strictly limited to a 90 minute timeframe.

Poster Presentations - If your abstract is accepted as a poster, you will be required to produce and print a poster which follows the poster guidelines.

All abstracts should meet the following guidelines:

Format of Abstract
• Only include the essential qualities of the paper (do not include acknowledgements, figures or references).

• Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words, this does not include the title of the abstract.

• Any abbreviations should be defined where first mentioned. Abstracts will be published as submitted without any modification.

• A brief (50 words max) personal profile should be included at the end of the submission page.

Submitting Your Abstract(s)
On-line submission is the only method of receipt of abstracts.

You will be guided through the online submission process and given instructions as required. You can save the submission at any time (even if incomplete) and return to it at a later stage, as long as it's prior to the submission deadline. You can withdraw your submission at any time too.

Confirmation of Receipt of Abstract(s)
Immediately following submission, you will receive an acknowledgment confirming receipt of your abstract, including a submission reference number. These details should be used if you wish to edit your abstract up to and no later than midnight ACST on 30th May 2022. No changes will be possible after this deadline.

Abstracts notifications will be sent out via email to abstract submitter only by end of July 2022.
